Buitenplek Stek

What a great time we had at Stek's Buitenplek at Bospark de Vossenberg in Nunspeet. We had a lovely weekend in this, not so, tinyhouse! Great for girlfriends or with family. There is room for five people. Perfect for a weekend with four girlfriends or for a family with three children.

This new place really show lots of comfort and nice design details. The romantic spacious box bed with king-size bed gives you an immediate taste of a lovely slow weekend. We had a wonderful sleep and were so lazy in the morning. Slow travel at its best.

Buitenplek Stek Nunspeet

We were at Buitenplek Stek in the summer so spent a lot of time on the outdoors veranda and used the Boretti bbq. Who knows, we might come back again in autumn. Becasue after a lovely day on the moors you can turn on the pellet stove. So cosy.

The Buitenplek van Stek is on Bospark De Vossenberg. A small family park in Nunspeet with lots of amenities. There is a cosy eatery, a boules court (j'adore) and a fun playground with trampoline for the kids. You can rent bikes and the little ones can use the go-karts for free. Also nice: at Bospark de Vossenberg you can use the sandwich service. The local baker brings fresh rolls and pastries to the park in the morning.

  • Discover the Veluwe in my Veluwe blog post. Packed with tips. How about a lovely walk on the (Ermelosche) Heide or a visit to the Paleis het Loo (25km), De Apenheul (27km), Radio Kootwijk (32km) or the Kroller Muller Musem (40km).

  • We took a lovely fresh dip in the morning and went swimming at De Zandenplas, just under 15 minutes' walk from the cottage. There is also a small kiosk.

  • Of course, we also went for a walk on the heath. We were lucky, the heather was already in full bloom. Within walking distance of the park is the visitor centre Nunspeet. The visitor centre is an official information point of Staatsbosbeheer on the Veluwe. Many walking routes start here.

  • The Hanseatic cities: Elburg, Harderwijk, Hattem and Zwolle. For example, in Hattem you have By Molle, an insanely cute home furnishing shop, studio and cafe. You might know them for their beautiful collection of pure linen bedding, cushions and curtains.

  • Restaurants: if, like me, you're a fan of slow travel, I wouldn't leave the park. If you do want to eat out, there is plenty of choice nearby, from a delicious city snack in the cafe to culinary delights in a starred restaurant. Here are the tips from Buitenplek Stek:

    • At Brasserie | Kunstatelier | Brouwerij aan de Gracht, you can have great food on the cosy terrace and drink a speciality beer from their own brewery.

    • Buy tasty things for drinks or dinner at the Proeflokaal in Elburg.

    • You can really step out at star level in Harderwijk at restaurant het Nonnetje (2 Michelin star) or restaurant de Basiliek (Gaultmilliau).

    • Also in Harderwijk and slightly more informal is Dikke Dirck. Think lavish sandwiches, burgers & drinks boards For award-winning ice cream and beautiful cake, go to Patrijs in Harderwijk.
