Studio Keizer Harderwijk

Bed and Breakfast Studio Keizer Harderwijk

Last weekend I stayed at Studio Keizer in Harderwijk. Tucked away in the charming Keizerstraat, surrounded by historic buildings and just a stone’s throw from the well-known Vischmarkt, the b&b is perfectly placed for exploring the boulevard, lively squares and the old harbour.  All just a few minutes’ walk away.

Studio Keizer Bed and Breakfast has been welcoming guests since April 2025. On arrival I was greeted by the owners, Dick and Brenda. Before I’d even put my bag down, they’d prepared a platter of delicious snacks and offered me a drink of my choice. Such a thoughtful touch, and exactly the sort of detail that makes a stay feel special.

The studio is surprisingly spacious and beautifully decorated with an eye for design and detail. Nice colour combinations, with a surprisingly practical layout.

The queen-size bed is under a skylight, so you can literally fall asleep under the stars at night. There was a spacious walk-in shower, a separate toilet, and even a small kitchenette with a fridge and hob. Handy if you want to make or cook something small.

The studio itself is surprisingly spacious and beautifully furnished, with an eye for design and detail. The colours work wonderfully together and the layout is both stylish and practical.

The queen-size bed sits beneath a skylight, so you can literally fall asleep under the stars. There’s a spacious walk-in shower with Marie-Stella-Maris products, a separate toilet, and even a compact kitchenette with a fridge and hob. Ideal if you’d like to prepare something simple yourself. You can treat yourself to coffee from sustainable brand The Koffiejongens.

French doors open out onto a small garden, shared with the owners, where you can sit and enjoy the morning or evening sun. Something I hadn’t realised beforehand, but what I can highly recommend is that you can also rent SUPs. This allows you to see Harderwijk from a completely different perspective. Paddle quietly along the quay, in the sun, for that real holiday feeling.

What makes Studio Keizer so ejoyable is the combination of a lovely studio, a superb location and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re planning a romantic break or simply looking to recharge, this is the sort of place that leaves you smiling. I left feeling wonderfully rested, and with the strong impression that Harderwijk is a city well worth discovering.
