Strijp-S Eindhoven
Trendy and urban Strijp-S in Eindhoven is a neighbourhood and former industrial park that belonged to electronics company Philips. The old Philips factories are transformed into cool bars, restaurants and shops. The once "forbidden city of Philips" is now a trendy industrial site where you can casually hang out. Please tell all your friends about it.
Anton Philips started producing light bulbs in 1892. In 1916 Anton Philips moved to Strijp-S and built a glass factory. This was just the beginning. A few years later the grounds included factory buildings like The Philips Physics Laboratory, The Klokgebouw, The Ketelhuis, The Engine Rooms and The Veemgebouw. Who could imagine at that time that Philips is now a leading health technology company?

Area 51 Skatepark - One of the largest skateparks in Europe at Strijp-S. For when you are really into skating. Re-opens at the end of 2020. area51skatepark.nl
Foodmarket Vershal het Veem - A hipster indoor food market for your daily food produce. You'll find food stalls with names like The Butcher On Wheels, Woeste Burgers, Willy Nacho, Kopje Koffie and the Pastry Club 2.0 among others. Shops like Wine and Nuts and Brouwerij Het Veem are perfect for gifts. Not all outlets are occupied yet but visiting Vershal het Veem is a nice relaxing Saturday morning outing. A shame it houses a tiny Albert Heijn though. vershalhetveem.nl
NatLab Cinema Eindhoven - Oh NatLab! We like you. A lot. Housed in the former Philips' Physics Laboratory at Strijp-S. This movie theater is lovely and they offer an English program too. A great evening out with dinner and an art house movie. Another one for the list. natlab.nl
