Ezra & Gil – A Northern Quarter favourite for expertly brewed coffee, brunch and relaxed vibes, this café has become a local institution since opening on Hilton Street. It’s perfect for everything from a morning flat white to a casual midday meetup.

Just Between Friends Coffee – A cosy independent coffee shop tucked into Tib Street that serves carefully roasted espresso and batch brews in a warm, minimalist setting. It’s a great spot for quality coffee and laid‑back conversation on a slow morning. Grab a chair and sit outside in front of the cafe.

Morning Glory – A cosy Oldham Street café with a laid‑back vibe and great coffee, perfect for starting a day of exploring the Northern Quarter.

Black Milk – Part café, part dessert bar on Oldham Street, Black Milk pairs quality coffee with creative cakes, cereals and sweet treats, ideal for something a little different.

Ancoats Manchester


Ancoats is one of Manchester’s coolest neighbourhoods, blending raw industrial heritage with a new wave of trendy spots right next to the buzzing Northern Quarter. Once a deserted industrial zone, it’s now a lively district packed with artisanal bakeries like Pollen Bakery and the Flat Baker, cosy coffee shops like Ancoats Coffee, independent restaurants and scenic canal walks that make it a must‑visit area for exploring Manchester’s creative and culinary scene.
